“I am intrigued by old rusting machinery, discarded or forgotten. This old hulk stood defiant in the weeds and the mist with those wretched old barns framed by that thorny, spiky tree. A feeling of desertion hung in the air that day and I have tried to capture it here in this painting. Well, that and the feeling that this old dog hasn’t quite had its day.”
